The Burbank Junior Chamber has a long historical tradition in the City of Burbank. The Junior Chamber (Jaycees) have been in Burbank from the mid 1950’s. The Junior Chamber took a small break during the late 80’s and 90’s but today the chapter has been reestablished into a strong and energetic entity. It contains a great team, many award-winning leaders, and many talented members. Jim Lawson and Wendy Weichel re-chartered the chapter in 1998 and have formed an incredible group and an award-winning chapter. In 2000, the Burbank Chapter won the top honor of being the Number One Overall Chapter in the State of California. The chapter won first place awards in an incredible eight out of nine categories. In the ninth category, the Burbank Jaycees were placed runner up. As a team, they received special recognition from the President of the US Junior Chamber, John Prozinski, and from the President of the California Junior Chamber, Jack Daniel Smith. The Burbank Jaycees were awarded the number one chapter growth in their division and honored as the top membership chapter for the State of California. In that same year, the Burbank Jaycees were also ranked as the top 1% of all chapters in the Nation. The Burbank Junior Chamber has established a wonderful relationship with the Burbank Chamber of Commerce. Corporations and local business are encouraged to become part of the Junior Chamber. Dues paid to the Burbank Junior Chamber can now be applied toward membership toward the regular Burbank Chamber. We are proud to be part of the wonderful City of Burbank which has great services for residents and a wonderful City Government. Please click here for information about City Services. |
